William Regal apologizes after spelling Muhammad Ali’s name wrong

WWE legend William Regal apologized after mistakenly misspelling Muhammad Ali’s name 

Muhammad Ali is one of the greatest names in the world of sports. He is a legend and became an icon worldwide during his lifetime. He still remains a household name after the legacy he has left. In the combat sports industry, many athletes see him as their inspiration.

Former WWE Superstar William Regal was mentioned as legendary Antonio Inoki. During his wrestling days at the NJPW and said how blessed he is to fight someone who faced legendary Muhammad Ali during his career. 

A very Happy Birthday to the Legendary Antonio Inoki. I was very honoured that Mr Inoki chose to wrestle me in 1994 that led to three wonderful years of wrestling for @njpw1972 and meeting people who became lifelong friends. It also means I fought a man who fought Mohammad Ali.”

But while making the tweet, he mistakenly spelt Ali’s name wrong with a slight letter change: Mohammad instead of Muhammad. He immediately sent out an apology in his following tweet. It was, however, an honest mistake.

“I sincerely apologise, Muhammad Ali.

William Regal posted a heartfelt message following his release

 Former WWE legend William Regal recently became one of the victims of mass release happening at WWE when it was announced that due to changes with the WWE NXT 2.0 brand, the company is casting several writers, producers and coaches.

Regal had been a part of the company for more than two decades posted a heartfelt message.

WWE also issued a statement regarding the release.

“With the continued evolution of NXT 2.0, we’ve decided to part ways with some of the staff based in our Performance Center. We thank them for their many contributions throughout the years and wish them the best.”

William Regal worked as WWE’s Director of Talent Development and head of Global Recruiting, being the main talent scout for the company. Regal had been a part of WWE since 2000.
