WWE 2K22 will be released soon and there are some interesting DLC characters
WWE are hoping to correct all the wrongs from their last 2K game. 2K20 was a horrible mess and was met with scathing reviews all around.
2K Sports decided not to release a 2K21 game and instead pushed out Battlegrounds. While that too wasn’t a great game, they have a lot of expectations from 2K22.
The game is already available for download as part of early access. This is for those who have pre-ordered the game. Nevertheless, there seems to be a lot of great DLC characters for download too.
The SmackDown Hotel (h/t Game Rant) have confirmed that the likes of Cactus Jack, LA Knight, Rob Van Dam, Stacy Keibler, Yokozuna and Mr T will be the first set of downloadable characters.
This is above and beyond the extra characters that could be downloaded from the nWo 4-Life edition.
WWE has a history of adding more characters as the game cycle continues, and it will be interesting to see what else is available for download.
Other big names as WWE 2K22 DLC?
Machine Gun Kelly is the only confirmed name as a DLC character but there have been rumours that Ronda Rousey could also get into the game.
She made a surprise entrance at the Royal Rumble and the former WWE Champion is set to headline WrestleMania as well.
It will be interesting to see what else WWE has in store in terms of DLC. This seems to be a make or break game for 2K and WWE. There have been rumours of EA Sports holding discussions about future WWE games, and that would be a huge blow for 2K Sports.
EA Sports have some of the biggest sports licenses in the world, and they could just get their hands on WWE in the near future.
