WWE Champion Drew McIntyre jokes he will win an Oscar before Wade Barrett

Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett have been exchanging blows on social media recently

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre shot back at Wade Barrett regarding some comments made by the former WWE star.

Barrett hasn’t wrestled in years but was one of the most impressive stars during the Nexus days. However, Barrett did say he was pleased seeing McIntyre become the first British WWE champion.

Barrett was also the King of the Ring at one point, and he took the Bad News Barrett persona really well. However, he retracted his earlier statement and tweeted the following:

“Actually, I’ve had a re-think and I’ve decided I’m not happy for him after all. In fact, I’m ruddy furious. It should have been me.”

McIntyre, for his part, replied to these comments and decided to plug in Barrett’s new movie as part of the banter.

The WWE Champion tweeted that he would also win an Oscar before Barrett:

“Don’t be playing the big man on here because you’ve got a movie to promote (I am Vengeance – Retaliation, OUT NOW!!!) I still remember you in tears of joy when I won the big one. If you don’t shut up I’ll start acting and win an Oscar before you as well”

The former WWE star also replied to this jab and thanked McIntyre for the “plug” before saying that he was open to washing the Scot’s cars.

McIntyre is enjoying the time of his life after defeating Brock Lesnar for the title. The Scot has defeated the Big Show, Seth Rollins and MVP in title defences too.

The champion turned his career around after leaving WWE and became a top star on other promotions. He returned to NXT a changed person and won that title before moving to Raw. The Scot even won the 2020 Royal Rumble to set up a date with Lesnar.

McIntyre made no mistake of his chance at WrestleMania and it will be interesting to see how long he keeps this title.
