Published by

WWE will start New Year’s Day with a new pay-per-view event, WWE Day 1. Let’s find out about the predictions of the big matchups

As of now, there is no WWE pay-per-view event scheduled for December, and all the focus is now on the whole month’s segments which will build onto the big January 1 event. Two world championship matches are already set, with Big E defending the WWE Championship against Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens in a triple threat match. In addition, the Beast Incarnate will be challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal title. All the other men’s and women’s matches will be made in the coming weeks.

WWE Day 1 predictions

  1. Raw Women’s Championship between Becky Lynch (c) and Liv Morgan

Liv Morgan’s title shot against Becky didn’t go her away as she was unusually defeated by The Man on December 6 edition of Raw. So now a rematch is set for Morgan on WWE Day 1. Lynch is on a good run since her return after giving birth to her first child. She has nearly defeated everyone who has set foot in the ring against her.

But with last week’s defeat, Morgan will be ready to take revenge on her at the big stage on New Year’s eve.

2. SmackDown Women’s Championship: Charlotte Flair (c) vs Toni Storm.

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair needed a fresh challenger, and it now seems that Toni Storm is ready to take that challenge. Their segment started off with Flair hitting Storm in the face with two pies on the post-Thanksgiving edition of SmackDown.

There is no other challenger in their way as of now, so it can be an excellent opportunity for Storm to put up a great fight against The Queen of WWE.

3. Raw Tag Team Champion: RK Bro (c) vs Dirty Dawgs

RK Bro has been a top tag team for quite a while now and has been the central focus of RAW every week. Although they are recently involved in quite a few matches against Robert Roode-Dolph Ziggler, there are other competitors like The Street Profits and AJ Styles-Omos, but now it is pretty clear that the Dirty Dawgs will be challenging them at the big event.

4. SmackDown Tag Team Championship: The Usos(c) vs The New Day

Last week on SmackDown, Kofi Kingston returned as he battled Jey Uso in a singles competition. Still, it was only a matter of time before Jimmy interjected himself and drew a disqualification.

It was later revealed backstage that they will challenge the SmackDown Tag Team Championships on January 1.

There might be a chance that The Usos might drop the title, which can create dissension within the Bloodline but as far as the officials are concerned, they would like to keep The Bloodline intact, entering WrestleMania 38.

5. Biance Belair vs Doudrop

WWE has clearly shown Doudrop’s jealousy over Bianca Belair, with all her success and championship opportunities. It has. Sparked a rivalry between the two. On New Year’s Day, it will be apparent that who will come out on top and boost her credibility.

6. Edge vs The Miz

The Rated R Superstar and The Miz Both returned to RAW last week and straight away started a rivalry with all the trash talks. Unfortunately, their feud might involve their better halves Beth Phoenix and. Maryse.

A win for Edge must be the likely possibility at the PPV event, but you never with The A-Lister. He might pick up a win against him.

7. Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship: Big E vs Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens

WWE Champion Big E has faced some tough challenges since he won the title in September. However, he will have to overcome two superstars simultaneously as he defends the title against Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens in a triple threat match.

Although Big E defeated Kevin Owens last week in a steel cage match on RAW. There is a chance that with Owens’s contract expiring soon, Big E might pin him at the game, and his rivalry extends against Rollins till WrestleMania 38.

8. Universal Championship Match: Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns

Brock Lesnar finally returned last Friday on SmackDown and smashed Sami Zayn, the number 1 contender for the Universal Title against Roman Reigns, and cost Zayn his title opportunity.

Lesnar will be looking forward to taking his revenge on the Crown Jewel event in October against The Tribal Chief. It a rivalry that’s started back in 2015 when they first met at WrestleMania.

The Outcome of the WWE Day 1 event depends very much on The Rock’s availability for WrestleMania 38, but there is a high chance that Reigns will defeat The Beast and retain the title at the PPV event.
