WWE Universe mourns as legendary Hall of Famer Blackjack Lanza passed away today
WWE Hall of Famer Blackjack Lanza passed away today at 86. WWE NWA and several other pro wrestling stars have paid tribute on several social media platforms.
WWE Chairmen and CEO Vince McMahon took to Twitter, paid tribute to him, and mentioned him as a man’s man. He said that he loved WWE for many years and mentioned his dedication to the company.
“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Jack Lanza. He was a man’s man, respected and beloved by all. He worked for and loved WWE for many years. His loyalty and dedication will never be forgotten.”
The NWA also paid tribute to Blackjack and considered him one of the greats.
“The NWA is saddened to learn about the passing of legendary performer John ‘Blackjack’ Lanza. Our thoughts go to the friends and family of one of the greats. #NWAFam“
“The Game” Triple H also took to Twitter and wrote heartfelt condolences towards the great Lanza. He said that Lanza was the sweetest and also mentioned his dedication.
“Certain talent will seek certain agents for advice, but EVERYONE sought out Lanza’s. The sweetest man but incredibly tough & 100% dedicated to making us better. Jack often didn’t tell you what you wanted to hear, but ALWAYS told you what you needed. I’ll miss you dearly my friend”
Many other wrestling superstars like Matt Hardy, Lance Storm, William Regal etc., also paid tribute to the WWE Hall of Famer.
Blackjack made his pro wrestling debut back in 1961 and retired in 1985. He later worked WWE as a road agent and producer. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006. He had run with several other independent promotions like WWA, NWA, GCW etc.
