WWE Hell in A Cell 2021 is only a week away: Here is the confirmed match card and predictions
WWE will be airing its 13th successful Hell in a week’s time. This is the first time that the WWE will be hosting the event in the month of June, since it usually airs in October.
The event will also be the last time a PPV event is hosted at the Yuengling Center (at least for now), as the promotion is to resume their tour from mid-July, with fans allowed.
The event is set to be held on the 20th of June, and will be broadcast from the WWE ThunderDome. Money in the Bank was originally set for the 20th of June, before being moved to the 18th of July.
The last time a WWE Hell in A Cell event was held in a month other than October, was the 2018 Hell in A Cell. It was held in September, that year.
So far three title matches have been confirmed.
Bobby Lashley (C) vs Drew McIntyre
The first one is the WWE Championship match between Bobby Lashley (champion) and Drew McIntyre. It will be A Last Chance Hell in A Cell Match, with Lashley being accompanied by MVP.
Rhea Ripley (C) vs Charlotte Flair
The second confirmed match will be a singles match for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship which features the champion Rhea Ripley taking on Charlotte Flair.
Bianca Belair (C) vs Bayley
And the next match will be for the WWE SmackDown Women’s championship which features the champion Bianca Belair squaring off against Bayley.
Two other matches have also been rumoured to be added to the card. 1- WWE Universal Championship match between Roman Reigns (champion) and Cesaro. 2- WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship match between the Mysterios and the Usos.
McIntyre has already challenged Lashley twice for the title. The first time he challenged was at WrestleMania 37. McIntyre was unsuccessful in his title quest due to interference from MVP.
And at WrestleMania Backlash, McIntyre, Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley fought for the championship in a triple threat match. Lashley was still able to hold on to his belt.
And now after beating Kofi Kingston at Monday Night Raw on the 31st of May, McIntyre will be getting one last chance at the WWE Championship in a Last Chance Hell in A Cell match.
‘The Scottish Psychopath’ will not be able to challenge for the title (until Lashley is the champ) again if he loses to Lashley.
The only factor that might prevent a McIntyre win, is the lack of live-audience. Given the charisma ‘The Chosen One’ has, it wouldn’t do justice if he wins the title at an empty stadium.
But, one has to look at his title shot slipping away as well, if he loses the match. Tough pick!
Bobby Lashley to retain his WWE Championship
It has hardly been two months since Ripley won her RAW Women’s Championship. She beat Asuka at WrestleMania 37 to win the title for the first time.
Plus, Ripley has a history with Charlotte Flair that she would want to forget. The Australian suffered a disappointing loss when she fought Flair for the NXT Women’s title at WrestleMania 36.
With the Money in The Bank in front of live-audience coming in a month, Ripley would probably retain the title, as the promotion wouldn’t want a switch of a title this quick, sans live-audience.
Rhea Ripley to retain her title
The new face of WWE Women’s Superstars, Bianca Belair beat Sasha Banks at WrestleMania 37 to win her first title in her WWE career.
The very next week Bayley challenged Belair for the championship, however Belair successfully defended her title.
Belair did the same once again at WrestleMania Backlash. It is hard to see the promotion opt for a title change this soon, especially with someone like Belair.
This should be an obvious choice.
