W. Morrissey is a former WWE Superstar and is currently signed with Impact Wrestling. He was known as Big Cass during his days in WWE.
The 35-year-old Morrissey made his AEW debut this week on Dynamite. He was the mystery opponent that Maxwell Jacob Friedman had chosen to face Wardlow.
Morrissey had moments in the match where he showed his impressive strength against Mr. Mayhem. However, it was Wardlow who picked up the victory after delivering a thunderous powerbomb.
Reports from the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast suggest that WWE higher-ups were impressed with Morrisey’s work in the match.
Host Andrew Zarian revealed that he had received messages about Morrissey from certain people interested to know when the gigantic wrestler’s contract with Impact Wrestling is ending.
“I got a couple of messages about him from people. People wanting to know when his contract ends. I’m not gonna say that WWE is gonna’ take him but I can tell you that WWE is definitely impressed by him. There’s no way around it, man. I got a message last night while he’s coming out and somebody wrote, ‘did you see this F’N guy.”
W. Morrissey signed for Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) in 2011. FCW was the developmental territory of WWE at the time.
Morrissey formed a very popular tag team with Enzo Amore and won the NXT Year-End Award for Tag Team of the Year in 2015. Before his release from WWE in 2018, he feuded with Daniel Bryan for a while.
He went onto the independent circuit and did quite well before signing with Impact Wrestling in 2021.
On this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling, Morrissey won a Tables Match against Brian Myers. Morrissey and Jordynne Grace have been involved in a feud with former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona, Chelsea Green and Myers for quite some time now.
