WWE is always on the lookout for talented wrestlers in the pro-wrestling circuit and recruits them to the company if they see the potential.
According to a new update from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Moose had impressed the recruiters of WWE and they were looking forward to signing him to the company.
The report states that informal talks were made between WWE’s recruiters and Moose. If Moose had gone on to sign the deal, it would have reportedly taken him straight into the main roster of the company subject to WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon’s approval.
In the summer of 2021, it was reported that Moose signed a new two-year contract with Impact Wrestling. This was despite significant interest from WWE. Even AEW were rumored to be interested in signing the 38-year-old.
At the time, Impact officials wanted to re-sign him before he became a free agent. Moose received feelers from WWE officials who are no longer a part of the company.
Fightful Select also added that Moose confirmed them in a recent interview that he made up his mind to leave Impact and join WWE but a final offer from Impact Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore forced him to change his decision.
Quinn Ojinnaka is a former American football player who adopted the ring name Moose during his time in Ring of Honor.
