WWE NXT Great American Bash gets its first official match

WWE NXT hosts the Great American Bash in three weeks in July

The return of the famous event in 2020 is set to go ahead on July 6, 2021 at the WWE Performance Centre in Orlando, FL.

An exciting end to last year’s PPV saw Keith Lee dethrone Adam Cole as NXT Champion. The rumoured match-ups to take place:

  1. Samoa Joe returns

Joe’s return to WWE to interrupt William Regal is a sign of intent that he could be back to wrestling very soon. He has been out of the game for a long time and the Great American Bash could be the perfect platform for him to end the duck.

Joe is the enforcer to NXT GM William Regal

2. Kushida faces a tough challenge for his NXT Cruiserweight title

Kushida faced newcomer Trey Baxter and was made to work for his win. He now faces Kyle O’Reilly next week and could be a great match, where he’ll have his work cut out.

Confirmed: Adam Cole vs Kyle O’Reilly

After William Regal’s announcement on WWE NXT, Adam Cole is going to battle his former stablemate in Kyle O’Reilly at the Great American Bash.

After O’Reilly’s shock win at NXT Takeover: Stand and Deliver, Cole will be looking to even the odds as the two face off again after the WrestleMania 37 week.

Cole and Reilly were best friends and teammates in the Undisputed ERA. After their fallout the rivalry turned very sour costing each other opportunities at the NXT title.

Unlike their previous meeting, this is a ‘sanctioned’ match and the two will get to fulfill their unfinished business. O’Reilly is gearing up for the fight by calling out Kushida this week on WWE NXT. He will face Kushida for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship next week.

Adam Cole will mean business come July 6 and he will have a big point to prove.
