The WWE might return to Saudi Arabia later this year
The WWE is slowly getting back to normal just like every other organization. The fans have now started filling up the stadiums, since it looks like the coronavirus pandemic is coming under control (at least for now).
The promotion has a massive contract with Saudi Arabia (middle-east) that has a clause of at least two events per year.
The WWE is currently on an 11-year deal with Arabia for hosting PPV events. It was originally a 10-year deal, a year has been added due to the pandemic.
Since early 2020, WWE has not returned to Saudi Arabia, and it has left many wondering what the future holds for the middle-eastern venue.
However, the latest news coming from Wrestling Observer and Mat Men Podcast’s Andrew Zarian is that the WWE might be going back to Saudi Arabia soon.
Zarian tweeted that the promotion will only go back if there are no restrictions due to the pandemic during the month of October.
However, Zarian did mention that he had not double confirmed the same, in his tweet.
His tweet read:
“Hearing from source: WWE will be returning to Saudi Arabia in October. (If there are no restrictions at that time) Heard 10/21 but have not double confirmed.”
The last WWE show that took place in Saudi Arabia was Super ShowDown 2020. It took place on the 27th of February at Mohammed Abdu Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Goldberg fought Fiend in the main event, and won the Universal Championship.
