The DLC plans for the upcoming official video game of WWE – WWE 2K22, have taken a massive hit due to the recent Superstar releases
The WWE has been rampant with Superstar releases in the year 2021.
The coronavirus pandemic has taken a toll on literally every other organization in this world. As a result of budget gots a lot of WWE Superstars were shown the door.
Some of the noteworthy releases this year are – Braun Strowman, Bray Wyatt, Aleister Black aka Malakai Black, Lana and many others.
It looks like the WWE’s Superstar releases have taken a toll on the video game industry as well.
The WWE 2K22 video game which is slated for release in March 2022, have had their DLC (downloadable-content) plans altered massively.
The news was first reported by Sports Gamers Online.
DLC 1.0 is the one that has been affected the worst since it was supposed to revolve around former NXT North American Champion, Bronson Reed.
Reed was released on the 6th of August. The video game had also planned the DLC content to involve several other NXT stars, who were eventually released by the promotion as well.
2 DLC packages scrapped due to recent releases
The development teams – Visual Concepts and 2K Sports were dejected following the haphazard release of WWE Superstars. They also had to scrap 2 DLC packages due to the same.
So, they have now come up with a plan of roster updates alone, rather than the tedious DLC package releases.
