Some of the WWE News and Rumor Roundup includes exciting stories from the world of WWE as yet another eventful year comes to a close

Heading into the New Year, the WWE has been feeling the wrath of the coronavirus. The Omicron variant and the 5th wave of the pandemic have spared none.

The latest rumour is that the WWE producers are down with COVID. According to a report from PW Insider, a number of big names – Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn, Michael Hayes, Adam Pearce and Bruce Prichard were absent. The taping was headed by John Laurinaitis and Ed Koskey.

However, one can’t be sure about the exact reason for the absence of the aforementioned big names.

Besides this, Omos, the former tag team champion, was also withdrawn from featuring in this week’s episode of RAW. He is believed to have left before the show’s taping began. Once again, COVID is believed to be the reason.

All is well between Andrade and Charlotte Flair

Rumours of Andrade and Charlotte Flair’s relationship at crossroads were doing the rounds in recent times. However, Flair’s latest Instagram post following Christmas have quashed them all.

Posing alongside her partner Andrade, in a beach setting, Flair wrote:

“We Wish You A Merry Christmas 🎄🌟Feliz Navidad.”

Flair was drafted to SmackDown as a part of the 2021 Draft, and hence became the champion for a record 6th time.

Her partner, Andrade, on the other hand, is slowly becoming an integral part of AEW.

Lacey Evans returning soon?

Lacey Evans has been on maternity leave since February 2021. Had it not been for her maternity leave, she could have even been the champion.

Evans was set to face Asuka at the Elimination Chamber for the Raw Women’s Championship. At the same time, a cheesy storyline with Ric Flair was heating up as well. However, the plans had to be cancelled due to her real-life pregnancy. It later came to light that Evans was set to win the title against Asuka.

In a recent Tweet, a fan tagged Evans and thanked her for being an inspiration to her daughter. The fan wrote:

I would say, Santa did good with bringing her @LaceyEvansWWE ! She was over the moon & then shortly after, she asked when Lacey would come back, I told her I’m sure she is training to come back & she said I can’t wait! She loves you so much! Merry Christmas!

Evans reply hinted at a return to the promotion soon. She replied:

“Tell her I’m coming.”

Rumors of Cody Rhodes non-interaction quashed

Rumors of Cody Rhodes not interacting with the members of the AEW roster backstage began doing the rounds after a quote from PW Torch’s Wade Keller.

Cody Rhodes (R) is one of the biggest draws of AEW

Those rumours were laid to rest after wrestlers Pres10 Vance and Fuego del Sol tweeted in support of the AEW Executive Vice President.

Here is what Vance had to say:

“Cody is one of the most approachable people I’ve ever met. Not just in wrestling but in life. He is the definition of treating everyone as equals from the CEO to the janitor. Idk who your sources are but I’d get some new ones my friend.

Del Sol tweeted, condemning Keller:

Yo @thewadekeller your sources are trash… Cody and Brandi literally had boxes full of gifts in the locker room this week and were inviting guys in to come get them, he helps so many of our guys every week. Get out of here with this BS.
