El Ligero and Travis Banks are the two stars that WWE have released over sexual harassment claims
WWE have released El Ligero and Travis Banks, according to sources close to ESPN.
The two British stars were accused of sexual harassment as the #SpeakingOut movement hit the wrestling scene a few days back.
Ligero was one of the first stars to be named in this. The British star, real name Simon Musk, has been accused of sexual assault.
However, Musk has denied assault but apologised for sending inappropriate messages to various women (h/t ESPN).
Banks, real name Travis Bligh, also apologised for his role in the #SpeakingOut movement, but they aren’t the only WWE stars who have been released recently.
Jack Gallagher, who made appearances on 205 Live and NXT, was also released by the company. Reports suggest that Gallagher was accused of sexual assault, and he was one of the bigger WWE stars to be released during this time.
Other promotions hit by sexual assault allegations
AEW suspended Sammy Guevara after a four-year-old clipping from a podcast appeared. Guevara made some horrific comments on WWE star Sasha Banks.
However, Banks and Guevara spoke about this incident and both released statements with this issue being in the past.
Jimmy Havoc, also of AEW, was sent for counselling after he too was accused of emotional abuse.
Impact Wrestling also released several stars. ESPN adds that the promotion released Michael Elgin, Dave Crist and Joey Ryan regarding the sexual harassment allegations.
Things have been tough in the wrestling world with many such cases coming out during the #SpeakingOut movement.
Matt Riddle was also accused of sexual assault with the incident apparently taking place in 2018 before he moved to WWE.
However, the Original Bro confirmed that he was taking legal action to deal with this.
