WWE wants Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 38
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has suggested that WWE have been heavily considering a massive WrestleMania 38 match up.
It has been recently reported by Fightful Select that WWE is pursuing the former UFC Champion with a view of her in-ring return. This news speculation of Ronda Rousey has made her one of the favourites to win the Royal Rumble which gives her the chance to pick her WrestleMania 38 opponent from the roster’s current champions, allowing WWE to a showdown with Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.
Meltzer has also speculated that a full-time return for Rousey is doubtful, but it has been reported that she has recently been training hard. It has been almost three years since Rousey wrestled her final match in WWE. She stepped away from in-ring action after her match against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch in a triple-threat clash at WrestleMania 35.
Ronda Rousey had one of the best rookie years in WWE history
During her stint in 2018-19, the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion appeared at the 2018 Royal Rumble. It started her feud with Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. She teamed up with Kurt Angle and won against them at WrestleMania 34.
After defeating Alexa Bliss, Rousey won the RAW Women’s title at SummerSlam 2018. She held the title until WrestleMania 35, where she competed in the first-ever Women’s Mai Event in WrestleMania history.
Becky defeated Ronda and Flair at WrestleMania to win the RAW and SmackDwon Women’s titles. Since then, Rousey went on a hiatus and hasn’t stepped foot in the ring. However, Lynch and Rousey have never faced each other in a singles competition.
