WWE have decided to cancel the TLC PPV for 2021 and have a new PPV in store instead
It has recently been reported that WWE have decided to cancel the 2021 TLC PPV. It has been reported that the plans to nix the TLC PPV were made more than a month ago. Also, it was previously announced that WWE had been planning a new PPV for December 12th or 19th at the Allstate Arena, Chicago. However, these plans were later put to bed.
Instead, SmackDown will be taking place on December 17th at the same arena. This will be the first year since the TLC PPV began in 2009 that WWE will not be hosting the event. The fans will certainly miss the event as it was usually filled with action and drama.
There is no PPV that will be replacing the TLC this year. However, as per Fightful select, The decision to nix the December PPV stemmed from the fact that WWE will be hosting a new event on January 1st 2022. WWE have planned a new PPV for the 1st day of the new year called as the “Day 1.”
The new event has been spearheaded by Nick Khan, the President and Chief Revenue Officer of WWE. The WWE Day 1 will take place on Saturday, January 1st at the State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia.
This means that this year will see it’s final two PPV’s in Crown Jewel scheduled for 21st October in Saudi Arabia and the Survivor Series that is scheduled for 21st November in Brooklyn, New York.
