Xavier Woods shares worrying update after brutal match with Bobby Lashley
New Day member Xavier Woods has updated his fans on Twitter after his grueling encounter against WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.
With Lashley winning at Hell in a Cell, McIntyre is no longer the No. 1 contender for the title. This gave Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to come out on RAW to interrupt Bobby Lashley’s speech. It ended with Lashley agreeing two singles matches with the pair.
Lashley will now face Kingston at Money in the Bank for the WWE Championship and faced Xavier Woods on WWE RAW in a Hell in a Cell match. The match was particularly tiring for Lashley who faced two brutal Hell in a Cell matches in two days. Lashley beat Woods via his submission finishing move.
Woods took to Twitter to express the after-effects of his match inside the barbaric structure.
According to Bryan Alvarez, this match is to write Woods off the storyline. (h/t Wrestling Observer Online)
“I think Xavier Woods is getting written out of the storyline. I’m not positive about that, but I did have someone mention that to me last night.”
With Woods out of the picture, Kingston will be extremely focused for his title opportunity at Money in the Bank. The All-Mighty has been on a dominant streak ever since winning the WWE Championship from The Miz. It will take a Herculean effort from Kingston to get over the line.
Kofi Kingston gets a dream title shot against WWE Champion Bobby Lashley at Money in the Bank. This will be a huge moment for Kingston after he defeated Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35 to win the WWE Championship. Kingston has been out of the title picture for long, so it is the best time to face Lashley at Money in the Bank on July 18.
Kingston comes in this match as the underdog having seen Lashley dominate the entire roster.
Lashley’s win over Woods also shows his strength and agility that has helped him hold the championship for this long. Kingston will have to stay focused throughout the fight and bring out his best if he has to shock the world and win the WWE Championship for the second time.
