Xavier Woods talks about the possibility of WWE releasing him
WWE has released around 80 wrestlers this year, and there is no stopping them at the moment but star wrestler Xavier Woods is not bothered if the company decides to release him. Every now and then the company is parting ways with one star or the other. This is happening all because of one thing – budget cuts.
The latest round of release took place last Thursday ahead of the Survivor Series, when WWE decided to release John Morrison, Tegan Nox, Drake Maverick, Shane Thorne, Jaxson Ryker, Top Dolla, Ashante Adonis, and Isaiah Swerve Scott.
Despite releases being happening every now and then wrestling star Xavier Woods seems not to be bothered about it one bit. Eleven time tag champ and current King of the Ring in his interview with Sportskeeda said:
“I love tag team wrestling, and I love King of the Ring. So, as far as wrestling goals, now I’m on bonus time. If they would have been like, ‘Hey, you won King of the Ring,’ and they came back and he [Vince McMahon] hit me with the ‘You’re fired,’ I would have been like, ‘Okay, deuces, it has been a fun ride.’
“I feel like if we just regurgitate the same thing over and over again, we’re not artists anymore. We’re just rehashing things — and that’s totally fine, I’m not knocking that vibe. But for me, my brain feels at homeostasis, I guess. I feel even, not off-kilter when I’m creating something.”
WWE reducing their roster with several rounds of releases
The recent waves of WWE releases have taken everyone by surprise and even the biggest of stars have not been spared of it. But there has been only explanation to all of this.
Budget cuts continue to be cited as the official reason why so many stars have been released from their professional duties.
The most surprising release came earlier this year – when the organisation announced the release of superstar Bray Wyatt. Wyatt first signed with WWE back in 2009 and was one of the top stars in the industry.
Another star which was let go earlier this year was Braun Strowman. He was a revelation in the ring and was loved by fans. He even defeated WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg at WrestleMania 36 to win his first and only Universal Championship.
