The first Chinese woman to compete in a WWE ring faced Natalya this week on SmackDown
Xia Li displayed her full array of strikes, much to the dismay of the third-generation wrestler.
Li has been on SmackDown for the past couple of months. Her debut on the blue brand was on the December 10th show where she came out to the aid of Naomi. Naomi was about to be attacked by Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler, and Natalya, when “The Protector” Xia Li emerged with her mesmerizing entrance. She cleaned the house and aided Naomi.
Natalya over the next few weeks, talked a lot of trash about Li. A month ago, Natalya faced Aliyah in a match on SmackDown. Natalya got herself disqualified as she kept on pounding Aliyah in the mid-section when Xia Lee came out to help the youngster.
Finally, two weeks ago, in another episode of SmackDown, Aliyah took on Natalya in a Dungeon-Style match. “The Queen of Harts” made Aliyah tap out, as she won the match. She wasn’t over with the beating though, as she continued the beatdown when Li intervened once again.
This week, Xia Li finally made her in-ring debut against her nemesis, Natalya.
Natalya, who lost a match against Aliyah in 3.17 seconds, lasted much longer in this match. She was taken aback by Li’s innovative offensive moves. Whatever Natalya threw at Li, it was answered with aplomb. Li finished the match off with a spinning heel kick much to the awe of the WWE Universe.
We take a look at the twitter reactions after an impressive showing by Xia Li
Xia, surely captivated the WWE Universe with her performance on debut. Here are a few Twitter reactions after her much-anticipated first match on the blue brand:
Fans who have seen her on NXT, know that she is one of the hardest strikers in the women’s division. They are disappointed that Xia is debuting with so little time left for WrestleMania. A longer time in-ring and she could have had a match at ‘Mania with a bigger storyline. Well, it’s better late than never.
Many people might not remember, but Xia had entered the women’s Royal Rumble match in 2020. She lasted 10 minutes and 49 seconds, entering at number 24. She was eliminated by Baszler.
Now that Xia Li has made her debut on SmackDown, expect to see a lot more of her in the coming months.
