Zelina Vega was released by WWE recently but some incredible details have come out regarding her finances
WWE releasing Zelina Vega has been the talk of the wrestling world since Friday. The rising star was released just a few hours before SmackDown and there have been several rumours as to why this was done.
One suggested that she was talking about unionising and another claimed this was regarding her Twitch streams.
WWE had recently passed an order that forbids stars from using their names or characters on third-party platforms.
Many stars had shared their disdain over this move but WWE is planning to make more money out of it.
Vega is one of the most popular streamers on Twitch and Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful revealed that the former WWE star made more money in this platform than on the promotion.
I don't think it was a big secret or anything Zelina was making more money off Twitch than WWE. That's not a shot at WWE, it's a compliment of her ability to connect with her fans and highlight her personality.

Getting the big bucks
YouTube and Cameo are also some other avenues where wrestlers make more money, however, it shouldn’t come as a big surprise regarding Vega and Twitch.
The 29-year-old Vega was one of the rising stars in the promotion but she wasn’t the top dog. A report from earlier in the year confirmed that some female stars make seven-figures per year as a salary.
However, most of the stars such as Sasha Banks, Bayley and even Asuka earn a salary of less than $400,000 per year.
Vega wasn’t on the level as them and she could have been making six-figures. However, it is incredible that she made more than her WWE salary via Twitch.
While the former WWE star was upset at getting released, she did thank her fans for all the support over the years.
Vega is a huge cosplayer too and has appeared on several shows. While her WWE career might be over, for now, this does open up more avenues for Vega to explore.
She won’t be tied down by WWE’s contract any more and could spend more time on Twitch and other platforms.
