Thunder Rosa recently called out the crowd after racist comments against Athena
The weekend did not go well for both the wrestlers and the fans when at the Warrior Wrestling event. AEW’s Thunder Rosa faced off against Athena(formerly known as Ember Moon). Both the wrestlers were engrossed in a gruesome bout when a fan yelled out a racist statement to Athena, saying “tear her weave off”.
The comment was not taken well and the AEW Wrestler decided to speak against it. Once the match got over, Rosa took the microphone and told the fans that such behavior will not be accepted. She asked the fans to respect the women putting their lives at risk. Rosa went on to say that fans who are disrespectful to the wrestlers in that way have no right to be at a show.
Athena made her in-ring return at the Warrior Wrestling 19 event against Thunder Rosa. She had her last bout in November 2021 before being released by WWE. The crowd had other plans and decided to ruin her return by shouting racist slurs.
Rosa rising up against the haters
Thunder Rosa is often regarded as one of the best in-ring performers and most outspoken female wrestlers of today’s time. He came into the limelight after her match against Britt Baker and is also a legit MMA fighter. Post the incident, she did not decide to stay mum and stood up against the racist hate. Social Media went crazy after the incident and people tweeted with their personal views on the incident. Comments such as those have no place at a wrestling event or anywhere else as well. Racism is still a huge burning topic and people now must know how to deal with it.
