Maverick has been excellent so far in the tournament, which has featured a lot of ups and downs for him. However, he has one last shot at glory and this is where we start our WWE NXT preview.

The golden run continues?

Maverick fights in the finals of the Interim cruiserweight championship and faces El Hijo del Fantasma.

Fantasma has looked great since coming to WWE, and he showed his respect for Maverick last week.

Maverick, for his part, should remain in WWE if he wins the title. However, he might have to leave the company too if things don’t go his way.

The tournament has been an emotional roller-coaster so far, and more of that can be expected on Wednesday.

Yim vs LeRae

The rivalry between two couples seems to be reaching fever pitch ahead of TakeOver. Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae have targeted Mia Yim and Keith Lee.

North American Champion Lee defends his title against Gargano at TakeOver, but the women will go head-to-head on this week’s show.

Yim and LeRae have a lot of history together prior to WWE, and it will be interesting to see how they do against each other on NXT.

Other storylines

Timothy Thatcher destroyed Matt Riddle and sent the Original Bro to SmackDown. However, Thatcher needs a new rival and that could be touched upon on this week’s show.

Adam Cole and Velveteen Dream is also set for TakeOver, and the Undisputed Era could have something to say about all this.

Asuka in action against Charlotte Flair (WWE)

Further, Charlotte Flair, the NXT Women’s Champion, should also feature on this week’s show. The Queen has been wrestling on all three brands but she faces Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai at the PPV.

Will The Queen come out and destroy her opponents before TakeOver? All that and much more should be on NXT.
