WWE NXT Results and Grades: NXT TakeOver XXX is almost here and there were some big matches set for this show.
Pat McAfee was back on NXT for kicking Adam Cole out a couple of weeks back. However, two spots for the NXT North American title were up for grabs.
And that is where we start off with this week’s WWE NXT results and grades piece.
Gargano vs Holland
Johnny Gargano vs Ridge Holland was the first match of the evening with a spot in the Ladder match awaiting for the winner.

Holland again impressed in this outing but a distraction from Candice LeRae and a low blow from Gargano helped him win.
Gargano beats Holland
Grade B
This match went off as expected with the bigger name making it to the PPV. Gargano has taken up the heel nature extremely well but Holland put on a great show too.
Kai in action
Dakota Kai took on Jessi Kamea and it was an easy win for the Captain of Team Kick. However, she taunted NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai after the match.

Shirai comes out and starts a brawl with Kai before Raquel Gonzalez hits the champion and takes her back to the ring.
Kai beats Kamea
Grade C
The match wasn’t all that great and it was supposed to be a squash. However, NXT could have touched upon the Kai vs Shirai feud without the squash match.
Six-man tag match
Legado del Fantasma were in action next as they took on Breezango and Isaiah Swerve Scott in a six-man tag match.

It were the heels who picked up the win after some impressive moments from all the six-men in the ring.
Legado del Fantasma win
Grade B
This was a fantastic match that showed off what the heels are capable of. Scott is finally getting some quality time on TV while Breezango are always fun to watch.
Ripley and Blackheart team up
Adam Cole and Pat McAfee got into a bit of a scuffle as the former NFL star cut a promo. Security couldn’t keep the pair away as their teammates (McAfee came with a few former NFL stars to be by his side).

The next match saw Rhea Ripley and Shotzi Blackheart team up. They took on Aliyah and Mercedes Martinez of the Robert Stone brand.

Aliyah and Martinez, however, couldn’t get the win as the faces celebrated.
Blackheart and Ripley beat Aliyah and Martinez
Grade C
The match should have been a good one but for some reason, it just didn’t click. Hopefully, the next time they face off, it will lead to better segments.
Balor vs Dream
Finn Balor vs Velveteen Dream was the final match for a place in the Ladder match at TakeOver XXX. However, Cameron Grimes came out to cause a distraction that led to major chaos. The referee got knocked down during this and all the other participants also came out.

Bronson Reed, Damian Priest and Johnny Gargano attacked the pair. Grimes was beaten up and Timothy Thatcher also caused a lot of issues as Dream got the win.
Velveteen Dream beats Finn Balor
Grade C
A clean match between the two top stars on NXT would have been great, but this was just too messy.
Hopefully, the ladder match will be great to see at TakeOver XXX.
One hint at the end saw Reed stand tall at the end of the chaos, and gold could be awaiting him.
