WWE NXT Results and Grades: The main talking point for this show was the triple threat match for the NXT North American title.
Keith Lee, Johnny Gargano and Finn Balor would meet in this match. Lee had the odds against him, but the winner would end up meeting Adam Cole for the NXT title in a winner takes all match later.
However, there were some other big matches too and here are the results and grades from this week’s WWE NXT.
Damien Priest was attacked before the match but decided to continue anyway. Cameron Grimes attacked Priest’s injured ribs and picked up the win.
Grimes beats Priest
Grade B
Priest has been targeted by Grimes for a while, and the Technical Savage might be the attacker. However, this is a story that WWE can push for a while as it keeps the two stars busy.
Jake Atlas wanted to get revenge from Santos Escobar after he attacked Drake Maverick last week.
However, Atlas was distracted by Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza throughout. The champion, Escobar, used the Phantom Driver to win.
Escobar beats Atlas
Grade B
This was actually a great performance from Atlas as he tried to get a win over the champion. However, Escobar looked great in the ring too.
We got a glimpse of Roderick Strong being helped by the Undisputed Era to get over his fear of car trunks.
The next match saw Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro face off against Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez.
It was the pairing of Kai and Gonzalez who got another win over their rivals.
Kai and Gonzalez beats Carter and Catanzaro
Grade C
Kai seems to want a shot at the title as she called out Io Shirai. The Women’s champion needs a rival and it will be interesting to see what happens next.
Bronson Reed came out fighting as he attacked Karrion Kross right as the bell rang.
However, Doomsday took control of the match and picked up the win via submission.
Kross beats Reed
Grade B
This match just served as another reminder of how dominant Kross is. Even after taking a few early blows, he was able to beat the large Reed with relative ease.
Aliyah and Rhea Ripley met in the ring after a squabble earlier in the night. Robert Stone tried to help his client pick up the win, but it was Ripley that defeated Aliyah.
Ripley beats Aliyah
Grade C
The result didn’t help the match despite Stone’s antics. Ripley is one of the top stars in NXT and getting a win over Aliyah doesn’t help her much while Aliyah could have done with the win, even by cheating.
Strong and Bobby Fish came out as Strong was to face Lumis. However, he is still scared and walks out of the ring with Lumis not doing much.
Lumis got the win via countout as Strong ran away. However, Lumis attacked Fish with a submission.
Strong beats Lumis
Grade B
This was a different take from the normal matches but it highlighted the psychology that Lumis plays with.
Strong and Fish were excellent too and this is something that WWE should work with more.
Lee had the advantage in size and he was targeted by Gargano and Balor at times. Lee was also thrown into the steel steps during the match as Gargano and Balor took control.
However, after a few close calls, it was Lee that won the match and set up a date with Cole.
Lee beats Gargano and Balor
Grade A
This was a great main event as all three men were close to getting the wins. However, Lee vs Cole in a winner takes all match should be exciting.
