WWE NXT results and grades: The stakes were high on this week’s NXT as Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa were to face each other one last fine.
The rivalry had reached its peak as Triple H warned the pair of repercussions if there were any further clashes after this match.
NXT also had a huge ladder match in store to decide who would face new NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.
There wasn’t a lot of action on this week’s WWE NXT due to the coronavirus and here are the results and grades.
The show kicked off with the huge ladder match as six women fought to become the new rival to Flair.
Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox had a rivalry to settle in this clash as they went after each other. Raquel Gonzalez helped Kai several times, and even put her onto her shoulders in hopes of landing the briefcase.
However, that was not to happen as Nox took out Kai. Chelsea Green also tried to use a chair to her advantage, but only ended up injuring herself and hobbling for the rest of the match.
Robert Stone, her agent, tried to set up a ladder and he too was climbing up top, but the pair were pushed down.
In the end, it was Io Shirai that won the clash ahead of Candice LeRae and Mia Yim, and now is set to challenge Flair.
Shirai wins ladder match
Grade A
This was a great way to start NXT as all the women had a role to play in the clash. No one felt out of place and some other stories were also pushed forward.
Nox and Kai are still fighting each other tooth and nail while Shirai seems to be the perfect contender to face Charlotte.
WWE continued its normal routine of playing an old match where Finn Balor faced off against Alexander Wolfe at NXT UK.
A promo was then cut of Balor speaking up about his clash against Imperium’s Walter but nothing else was done.
Grade B
The match was alright and so was the promo but we could have seen more live-action rather than this.
Balor vs Walter should be an interesting clash and we haven’t seen enough of the Demon since he returned to NXT.
Malcom Bivens came out with his new tag team, Indus Sher, as they took on Ever-Rise.
Rinku and Saurav looked incredible as a pair and easily beat the life out of Chase Parker and Shane Matthews.
Ever-Rise did have some bright moments in the match but this was going to be all about Indus Sher.
Indus Sher beat Ever-Rise
Grade C
It was surprising that Ever-Rise were given some decent moments in the match but in the end, WWE had to make Indus Sher feel like they are unstoppable.
The match could have been a squash to show how great they are, but they need more time to get into the flow of things and to face off against Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne, the NXT Tag Champs.
As expected, Ciampa and Gargano tore the NXT house down as they used all sorts of weapons on each other.
This was going to be the final meeting for the pair, on NXT at least, and they showed just why there was so much hate between them.
The best friends turned mortal enemies even used crutches in the fight and injured referee Drake Wuertz.
The match returned inside of the arena as LeRae, Gargano’s wife, came out to try and stop the madness.
However, she delivered a low blow to Gargano to the shock of Ciampa. The Blackheart refused to cover his former friend and was almost apologetic to what was going on.
But worse was to come, LeRae then kicked Ciampa in between the legs too as it was seen that Gargano was wearing a cup and was acting.
He then hit Ciampa with his finisher and celebrated with his wife after winning the clash.
Gargano beats Ciampa
Grade B
This match would have been brilliant if the fans were involved but the wrestlers did a great job of their ‘final meeting’ on NXT.
The shocker from LeRae could have been crazier if WWE let Ciampa win, but thankfully, they allowed Gargano to win deviously and hopefully, both men are moved to the other brands to cause more havoc.
