WWE NXT results, winners, grades, highlights and reaction: Last week’s NXT had some major surprises as Adam Cole was attacked by Velveteen Dream.
Keith Lee also found out his next opponent and it was here that this week’s NXT started.
The Limitless One was up against Cameron Grimes, and the challenger put up a great fight in this clash.
Lee seemed set to be hit by the Cave-in but managed to avoid it. He then got the win thanks to a Big Bang Catastrophe, however, his night was far from over.
Damien Priest attacked Lee before Dominik Dijakovic chased Priest off. Lee, in the confusion, ended up hitting the Spirit Bomb on Dijakovic.
Lee beats Grimes
Grade B
A solid match to start WWE NXT off. Grimes did a good job as the challenger but the aspect of Dijakovic and Priest coming out should make things interesting for Tampa Bay.
Dakota Kai had the support of Raquel Gonzalez by her side as Mia Yim tried to get a quick win.
The match was for a place in the ladder match at TakeOver for the No.1 contender for the women’s title, and there were many shenanigans from Kai.
However, it was Yim that picked up the win but Gonzalez hit out at the HBIC.
Kim beats Kai
Grade B
Another decent match as both women gave it their all. Gonzalez also had her role to play but surely, Kai should also be in the ladder match.
It was Raul Mendoza who got his hands on Kushida this week, but it was the Time splitter that came out on top.
Mendoza actually looked to be in control of the match but Kushida picked up the win via a cross arm breaker.
Kushida beats Mendoza
Grade C
The match felt a little shorter than it needed to be, especially since the pair are decent in the ring.
Rhea Ripley knocked Charlotte Flair down on Raw, and The Queen was back on NXT and attacked Ripley while the champion was in the ring.
Flair also locked Ripley in a Figure-four leg lock via the post and the officials had to come in and break it up.
Grade B
We got to see how dangerous the Queen is and this was getting one over Ripley.
The champion should know how great the Queen is, and if she didn’t, this was a perfect reminder as they face-off at WrestleMania.
Deonna Purrazzo has been asking for more time on NXT and she got it by taking on Tegan Nox.
This was another qualifier for the ladder match at Tampa Bay. It was Purrazzo who started brightly but Nox picked up the win with a dominant display.
Nox beats Purrazzo
Grade C
The match could have been better as Purrazzo is a good worker in the ring. She should have been given more time to show her abilities but WWE did ensure that Nox got a push.
Dream’s attack on Cole was actually started via a steel cage fight against Roderick Strong.
Dream came out and challenge Cole for the title, however, the NXT champion laughed off the suggestion and was preparing to celebrate next week as he would become the longest-reigning champion in NXT history.
Grade C
This spot felt a little weird as more was expected after Dream’s shenanigans last week. However, the pair seem set to collide at Tampa Bay, and that would be one of the highlights of the PPV.
The Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly) came out to try and win their titles from The Broserweights.
The Grizzled Young Veterans also came out to provide a distraction, but the Broserweights kept their crowns, for another week, at least.
Broserweights beat Undisputed Era
Grade B
The match was one of the better ones on the night and the pairing of Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle continues to impress.
However, it seems likely that the three teams will battle for the titles at Tampa Bay.
Although the rivalry between Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano isn’t new, they keep taking things to another level.
The pair brawled in the backstage area of the Performance Center and even the officials couldn’t break them up.
Ciampa came out on top of this massive brawl with an Air Raid Crash onto a table as Gargano was sent down.
Grade A
This was a great segment as both stars destroyed each other and the center too.
The pair will be brawling a lot till Tampa Bay, and it will be interesting to see how their rivalry develops.
