WWE Raw Results and Grades 12 Oct 2020: Lana shocks the WWE Universe

Published by

WWE Raw Results and Grades: The second night of the 2020 WWE Draft was set up to be a blockbuster event with more rounds and picks on Raw.

However, there already were some big moves made on SmackDown and Raw had some huge matches too.

Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton clashed on this week’s show (WWE)

The picks certainly were interesting for both brands, and we start off this week’s Raw grades and results piece with the WWE draft and picks for Raw and SmackDown.

Raw SmackDown
Grand Metalik and Lince Dorado Shorty G
The Fiend Bayley
Randy Orton The Street Profits
Charlotte Flair Daniel Bryan
Braun Strowman Kevin Owens
Matt Riddle Lars Sullivan
Jeff Hardy King Corbin
Retribution Sami Zayn
Keith Lee Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro
Alexa Bliss Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode
Elias Apollo Crews
Lacey Evans Carmella
Nikki Cross Aleister Black
R Truth Natalya
Dabba Kato Riott Squad
Titus O’Neil
Peyton Royce
Akira Tozawa
Lana
Riddick Moss
Arturo Ruas

The big talking point was seeing Alexa Bliss and The Fiend being drafted to Raw. Jeff Hardy was also back for the Red Brand while Aleister Black and Kevin Owens moved to the Blue brand.

Orton makes a statement

Randy Orton opened the show and spoke about his win over Drew McIntyre last week. He praised the champion, McIntyre, for all he had done but claimed he would win the title in Hell in a Cell.

McIntyre came out and the both clashed before Orton was able to escape.

Grade B

This has been going on for a while and McIntyre needs a new rival. However, a Hell in a Cell match could be the logical final meeting for the pair.

Owens vs Black

This was a no DQ match with both rivals going at it from the first round. In the end, it was Kevin Owens who picked up the win after sending Aleister Black through a table.

Owens beats Black

Grade B

This was a great match as both stars did their bit to ensure a no DQ match was violent and crazy.

This seems to be another rivalry that WWE could continue as both stars are on SmackDown now.

Miz TV madness

John Morrison and The Miz brought out Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke and tried to drive a wedge between them.

This saw Lana and Natalya come out and speak about a battle royal before the women fought.

Lars Sullivan then made an entrance and attacked Miz and Morrison.

Grade E

WWE again tried to include too many stories in one segment and it failed. Miz and Morrison getting attacked also doesn’t sit well given how big the two stars are.

Styles in a triple threat match

Seth Rollins spoke about how Raw and its fans would be poorer with him moving to SmackDown. However, he was interrupted by Jeff Hardy before he took out Rollins and AJ Styles.

A triple threat match was set up with Elias coming in and hitting Hardy with a guitar that allowed Styles to pick up the win.

Elias then blamed Hardy for injuring him for the car accident that took place months ago on SmackDown.

Styles beats Hardy and Rollins

Grade A

WWE put on a great match and it was difficult to go wrong with the trio. However, Elias coming out and continuing his feud from an injury that took place months ago is great from the WWE Creative team.

End of Lana and Natalya

Natalya and Lana took on Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke, again. As expected, it was Rose and Brooke that got the win.

However, Natalya was done with her partner and the team broke off after another loss.

Grade D

Another predictable match for WWE and Lana took a loss again. WWE had been teasing that things would improve between the pair but it made a bit of sense as the two were sent to different brands.

Garza vs Andrade

Zelina Vega claimed it was over for her managing Andrade and Angel Garza as the pair fought.

It was Garza who got the win in the end and as he celebrated, The Fiend and Alexa Bliss came out.

The two heels then attacked Andrade and Vega to close out the segment.

Garza beats Andrade

Grade B

The match could have been a little longer as both stars are great competitors. Garza seems to be going on his own while the Fiend and Bliss have new targets.

Tag team title clash

The New Day were handed the Raw Tag titles while The Street Profits were handed the SmackDown ones as they were traded to the Blue Brand.

Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler claimed they deserved a title shot and a match was set up against the New Day.

While the challengers put on quite a how, it was the New Day that got the win.

New Day beats Ziggler and Roode

Grade B

This was a great match for the champions and it was great seeing Ziggler and Roode do well too. However, it will be interesting to see what is next for the New Day on Raw.

Ricochet pays tribute to Eddie

Ricochet was to face Cedric Alexander and would end up joining the Hurt Business if he lost.

Alexander then hit the referee by mistake and this allowed Ricochet to grab a chair, throw it to Alexander, act like he was hit and got the win via DQ.

Ricochet beats Alexander

Grade B

This was another great match with a great ending as Ricochet paid tribute to Eddie Guerrero with the finish.

It will also be interesting to see what is next for the One and Only as he stays as a singles competitor with Crews ending up on SmackDown.

Battle Royal

Many top talents faced off for a shot to take on Asuka in a Battle Royal. Lacey Evans, Nia Jax, Bianca Belair, Shayna Baszler and the Riott Squad all fought with Lana and Natalya also present.

In a surprise, it was Lana who got the win after she kicked Natalya off the ropes.

McIntyre and Orton also clashed during this match with the officials having trouble keeping them apart.

Lana wins Battle Royal

Grade B

Lana getting the surprise was fun but it is unlikely she will beat Asuka for the title.

Lana has been made to look average in recent weeks but this was a great move for her and hopefully, she gets a fair crack at Asuka.
