WWE Raw results and grades: The first Raw after WrestleMania 36 wasn’t anything great to talk about.
There were some great results on that WWE Raw but the grades weren’t all that great given the lack of fire or storylines.
Drew McIntyre being asked to fight again after WrestleMania 36 and the people not knowing about it was a bummer, but it was a different story for the champion this time.
There was a lot of action on this week’s Raw and here are the results and grades.
New WWE Champion Drew McIntyre came out to celebrate his victory and thanked the fans for their support.
The Scot also was humbled at finally reaching the top but now he has a target on his back. Andrade and Zelina Vega came out and reminded Drew of his loss to El Idolo for the NXT title.
The match was accepted by McIntyre for later in the evening.
Grade B
This is what should have been the opening segment last week, but WWE got most things right with this.
Andrade and McIntyre had some epic fights on NXT and the champion also came off as someone who doesn’t back down from a challenge.
The Money in the Bank qualifiers started off with the Empress of Tomorrow taking on Ruby Riott.
The match started off a little back and forth but Asuka ended up taking the win by submitting Riott.
Asuka beats Riott
Grade B
Riott should have more time on Raw but it seems the coronavirus pandemic is keeping matches short. Nevertheless, the pair did a great job together, and it was interesting to see Asuka get pushed for the win.
WWE has pushed several NXT talents onto the main roster in recent weeks and we saw Oney Lorcan take on Raw’s rising star Aleister Black.
Surprisingly, it was Lorcan doing most of the damage and had Black with his back against the wall. However, the Dutch Destroyer used a Black Mass to continue his winning run.
Black beats Lorcan
Grade A
This was a great match between two tough competitors. It was surprising that Lorcan was allowed to have so much offence but it also showed that Black is a resilient star as he continued picking up wins.
Becky Lynch first spoke about how she destroyed the chances of Shayna Baszler winning the title at WrestleMania and also claimed she had a plan for the winner of the Money in the Bank match.
Sarah Logan faced an angry Baszler and the Queen of Spades destroyed her rival. The match had to be stopped by the referee as Baszler stormed off and confirmed her name in the Money in the Bank match.
Baszler beats Logan
Grade B
Well, this just showed how dominant Baszler still is on the roster and making this match short was perfect to keep her as the possible rival to Lynch.
Austin Theory continued appearing on Raw and took on Akira Tozawa. The former Cruiserweight star had some decent offence but it was Theory that came out on top with the win.
Vega was on commentary as she spoke about her new client highly. There was more to come with Andrade and Angel Garza joining Theory and beating up Tozawa after the match.
Theory beats Tozawa
Grade A
While the match wasn’t anything great, the ending provided a glimpse that the new stable is here to stay.
Raw needs a proper heel club, and Vega seems to have set up the perfect one with a lot of talent.
Garza is a ladies man in the ring and this time he decided to flirt with a WWE employee at ring side. He faced Tehuti Miles in the ring and made short work of the newbie. Andrade and Tozawa joined in a post-match beat down as the heels continued to have a great night.
Garza beats Miles
Grade B
Garza looked great in this match but having two similar endings didn’t really help the rating for this match.
However, the stable is doing what a stable should do, and they left a number on Miles too.
The next qualifying match saw Nia Jax take on Kairi Sane. It was Jax that easily defeated her Japanese counterpart and qualified for the Money in the Bank match.
Jax beats Sane
Grade C
Sane is one of the top stars in WWE and destroying her for the returning Jax didn’t make much sense.
Jax returning to WWE is big though, and it will be interesting to see if she is the one who ends up challenging Lynch.
Lana cost Bobby Lashley a match at WrestleMania 36, and the All Mighty asked his wife to quiet down in the clash against No Way Jose.
There was a brief argument between the couple which almost allowed Jose to pick up the win, but Lashley speared him to ensure he got back to winning ways.
Lana and Lashley celebrated in the end, but there are cracks appearing in this marriage.
Lashley beats Jose
Grade C
This story has been pushed for far too long and even after removing Rusev, we are still getting such clashes.
Lashley and Lana could be coming to an end soon, and it will be interesting to see how this ends.
Ricochet and Cedric Alexander have looked good as a pair but they got a real tough test against The Viking Raiders on this week’s show.
While the high-flyers tried their best to stay in the match, it were the Raiders who celebrated the win.
Viking Raiders beat Ricochet and Alexander
Grade B
This was a decent match which showed that Ricochet and Alexander can go head-to-head with the best in the tag business too.
However, The Viking Raiders deserve another shot at the tag titles and their matches against the Street Profits were great.
Andrade was dominated in the early going by McIntyre but El Idolo tried to get back into the match and targeted the champ’s arm.
However, McIntyre won the clash with a claymore before Garza took the champ down. Seth Rollins then came out to stomp McIntyre.
McIntyre beats Andrade
Grade B
The champ looked good as WWE set up a new feud with Rollins taking on McIntyre possibly at Money in the Bank.
This should be an exciting clash and hopefully, both stars put in great performances leading up to the PPV.
