WWE Raw Results and Grades: This week’s Raw had the United States Championship being defended by Andrade.
El Idolo faced off against Apollo Crews as Crews made all the right noises coming into the match.
Further, a No.1 contender’s match was set up as to who would face Asuka with Backlash coming soon.
Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley also squared off but not in a match. There was a lot of action on this week’s WWE Raw and here are the results and grades.
Kevin Owens first came out after a Memorial Day celebration. He spoke to a lot of NXT hopefuls before Asuka’s interview.
However, Nia Jax, Natalya and Charlotte interrupted the Japanese star, but it was Asuka that remained standing after the brawl.
Grade B
This was a decent enough segment that highlighted how good Asuka is. Charlotte was also right in saying that she has beaten Asuka several times as the Queen wants to Raw title too.
Andrade had injured Crews ahead of Money in the Bank, and that cost Crews his place in the PPV. However, it was Crews that picked up the title in what could be called a shock win.
Crews beats Andrade
Grade A
Crews is one of the best athletes in WWE and this was an excellent clash. It was a surprise seeing Andrade lose the crown on a Raw show, but Crews certainly deserved the adulation he got after the win.
Peyton Royce and Billie Kay came out to apologize for their actions last week and called out the Women’s tag champions.
However, this was an ambush as they attacked Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross and left them in the ring.
Grade C
While the women did a great job on the microphone, it made little sense for the champions to be beat up again.
This happened last week, and it happened again.
MVP interviewed McIntyre but the WWE Champion tore the set and claymored MVP as Bobby Lashley made his way down.
The interview ended as Lashley didn’t enter the ring.
Grade C
McIntyre is a beast and MVP knew he would be the one that would get attacked. The interview wasn’t all that great and Lashley looked a little weak not getting into the ring with McIntyre.
Angel Garza took on Owens and Garza attacked Owens before the match started. Garza continued the onslaught in the ring as he won the match.
Garza beats Owens
Grade B
It seems that Zelina Vega’s stable is going to go up and down. Andrade lost a clean fight and Garza beat KO without too much interference.
The match was good but there was no backstory to the pair facing off.
Austin Theory and Murphy, the two disciples of Seth Rollins, faced off against Humberto Carrillo and Aleister Black.
It was Theory that helped pick up the win for his new team. However, Theory and Murphy kept attacking their rivals and Rollins said that Carrillo would face the same fate as Rey Mysterio while they convinced Black to stop fighting back.
Murphy and Theory beat Black and Carrillo
Grade A
Bringing Mysterio’s story into all this was a good move as Rollins has created a rivalry it seems. His stable vs Mysterio, Black and Carrillo seems set, and the Messiah put on another impressive promo.
Jax vs Charlotte vs Natalya was the next match for the contender’s match. Charlotte and Natalya worked together to keep Jax out of contention, but she was helped by Asuka to get back in the ring and picked up the win.
Jax beats Charlotte and Natalya
Grade A
This was a great match as Jax wasn’t allowed to dominate. It was a surprise too that Charlotte didn’t win, but hopefully, she can concentrate on her NXT title rather than making appearances on the other brands.
MVP had joked about the Street Profits before this clash and this tag match ended in a DQ. Lashley locked on a full nelson and wasn’t letting go, despite the bell ringing.
McIntyre then came out to try and make the save as other athletes kept the two top stars apart from each other.
Street Profits beat Lashley and MVP
Grade B
McIntyre coming out to make the save made sense but he got hit with a spear too. It will be interesting to see how this clash goes as Lashley seems to be a decent rival for the Scot.
