WWE Raw Results and Grades: Survivor Series was on the minds of several Raw stars as the PPV is around a couple of weeks away.
There was still a spot left on the Raw Men’s team to finalise and some stars had the chance to book their place in the PPV.
However, we start off this WWE Raw Results and Grades piece with The Miz TV.
The Miz came out with John Morrison to interview the New Day but Randy Orton came out next. He claimed that The Miz was a coward who could win the title only by using his Money in the Bank case.
The New Day then came out as Orton, the Miz and Morrison attacked them. Drew McIntyre tried to make the save but he was taken out by the trio of new friends as they walked down the ramp.
Grade C
There was too much going on in this segment and none of these battles will be seen at Survivor Series. Miz and Orton teaming up was fun, especially with the Viper not convinced with the teaming up.
The final spot of the Raw men’s Survivor Series team was to be determined via a triple threat match. Elias, Matt Riddle and Jeff Hardy had the chance to book their place for the PPV.
AJ Styles was looking out from backstage and it was Riddle who got the final place.
Riddle beats Elias and Hardy
Grade B
Riddle making up this dysfunctional team is interesting and there could be more problems for the Raw team in the coming weeks.
Lana took on the other half of the Women’s Tag Champions this week with Shayna Baszler waiting in the ring.
Baszler made short work of Lana and Jax tried to send Lana through a table but Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke stopped this.
Baszler beats Lana
Grade C
The only reason this got a C grade was because Lana was not sent through a table. She has been through a lot, but this match helped no one.
AJ Styles tried to get a team meeting going but it ended up being a tag match with Keith Lee and Riddle teaming up to take the other members of the Raw team, Sheamus and Braun Strowman.
Styles was the referee and there was a lot of confusion as each star attacked the other. Sheamus again kicked Strowman and that led Riddle to pin him for the win.
Riddle and Lee win
Grade D
What is the point of all this? This isn’t helping the team bond and is instead causing more problems.
Styles was the only fun part of all this and the match was alright but there is a ton of friction in this team.
MVP came out with Bobby Lashley and confirmed that they would get a shot at the Raw tag titles against the New Day next week.
Lashley then defended his US title against Titus O’Neil and made short work of his rival.
Lashley beats O’Neil
Grade C
The title shot for Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin is great but this match wasn’t. Lashley is being made to look good, which is fine, but it doesn’t push any story.
This was a non-title match as Nia Jax took on the Raw Women’s Champion, Asuka.
Baszler ended up attacking Asuka to cause the DQ and this led to a brawl with Lana, Rose and Brooke also getting involved.
Lana was then put through a table.
Asuka beats Jax
Grade D
Lana being sent through a table finally happened and it seems that WWE wants the fans to feel sorry for her.
However, this table business has to stop as Lana has been sent through it eight times in a row now.
R-Truth put his 24/7 title on the line with six other stars also trying to pick it up.
All of the men, Erik, Drew Gulak, Tucker, Lince Dorado, Akira Tozawa and Gran Metalik got the belt in between but it was Truth who finally reclaimed it before being chased by the others down the ramp.
Truth keeps the title
Grade Z
This was a horrible segment despite WWE trying to make it funny. The 24/7 title has become a joke but Truth is the only thing keeping the belt and WWE’s comedy going.
Mustafa Ali claimed he was trying to save Ricochet and the pair put on quite as show.
It seemed that Ricochet was going to get the win but he took out the rest of the Retribution members. He then missed his finisher and Ali got him to tap out.
Ali beats Ricochet
Grade B
This was a great match with both stars doing their bit. The storytelling was great too and it will be interesting to see if Ricochet joins Retribution.
The New Day and McIntyre teamed up to take on Orton, The Miz and Morrison in a six-man tag match.
Orton decided to play the heel in the end as he refused to tag himself in and allowed the Miz and Morrison to take the loss.
McIntyre and New Day win
Grade B
Orton refusing to wrestle was the perfect move for a heel and it seems he will continue to battle against McIntyre.
He is to face McIntyre and defend his title next week, and it will be interesting to see how that goes.
