In this article, we will take a look at who stayed on top in terms of viewership this week. Is it WWE RAW or AEW Dynamite? Let’s take a look.
This week’s episode of RAW fell on Memorial Day and it also went up against Game 7 of the New York Rangers-Carolina Hurricanes series in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This led to a drop in the viewership ratings from last week.
According to Wrestlenomics, RAW managed to draw only 1,497,000 viewers this Monday. This is the lowest number that RAW has managed to achieve since July 2021. From last week’s episode of WWE’s red brand, this week the drop in overall viewership is a staggering 14%.
The good news was that the 18-49 demo drew 0.42, which is up by 3% from last week. RAW also ranked #2 in the demo for cable that day according to ShowBuzzDaily.
We have taken a look at how WWE RAW performed this week. Now, let’s take a look at where AEW Dynamite managed to stand.
The two shows RAW and Dynamite were quite different this week. Not that we saw baseball being played on one and basketball on the other. It’s just that this week’s episode of RAW was the last one before the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view while Dynamite was the first AEW show following the Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
Dynamite managed to draw 969,000 viewers on average. The increase in viewership was 4% from last week’s episode. The 18-49 key demo saw a rise of 14% as it was 0.40 this week. Dynamite ranked #2 overall for that demo in cable originals.
So while RAW managed to draw more viewers than Dynamite, if we compared them to their respective previous week’s episodes, Tony Khan’s show managed to do a better job.
