In a dramatic scene – a WWE fan on Monday jumped the barricade and went on to attack wrestling star Seth Rollins during Monday’s night RAW.
The Brooklyn crowd in the Barclays Center was rocking and enthusiastic like always, whenever the event came to the town. But this time the show was marred by an ugly incident.
During the event, Seth was seen celebrating his win on Raw with fans, but when Seth Rollins was leaving the ring – a fan jumped the barricade and attacked him on the ramp heading backstage.
The fan was literally on top of the wrestler, and Rollins was continuously trying to push him away and get himself free. WWE officials, referees and crew members attempted to pull the fan off Rollins.
After the ugly incident, WWE has released a statement about the Seth Rollins attack. The statement reads:
“WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously. The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Survivor Series as expected was once again a super-duper hit event. RAW swept SmackDown 5-2, winning Survivor Series yet again. Seth Rollins had a great night at Survivor Series leading Team RAW to victory as the sole survivor.
However, this attack would have left a bad taste in his mouth. The safety of performers has to be key for WWE and it was extremely concerning how the fan was able to get through security and attack The Architect.
Thankfully, Rollins was fine, and it will be interesting to see what other details come out of the attacker.
