These are some of the WWE Rumor Roundups, including IIconics offer, Austin Theory and more
Speculating on the rumours of pro wrestling is one of the last times that fans love to watch. So let’s take a look at some of the latest rumour roundups from the world of WWE before the Royal Rumble.
1. The Iiconics offered a spot in Royal Rumble
According to Fightful Select, The IIconics have turned down WWE’s offer to appear in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble Match.
Fightful Select has reported that WWE contacted The IInspiratin (aka Iiconics) for a spot in the match. However, they turned down the request.
The pair turned down the offer as they didn’t feel it was in their best interests considering what they were doing with IMPACT.
Mickie James will be appearing in the Women’s Royal Rumble despite not being in a WWE contract, and she is the reigning IMPACT Knockout Champion, but it has emerged now that she isn’t the only IMPACT star that WWE wanted.
2. Bron Breakker and Gunther were brought to St.Louis for the Royal Rumble Event.
According to a report from PWInsider, Bron Breakker and GUNTHER are scheduled to be at the Rumble event this coming Saturday. However, it is not yet confirmed whether they will compete in the match or not.
According to the report,
“WWE is bringing at least two top NXT talents in for Royal Rumble weekend, PWInsider.com has confirmed. NXT Champion Bron Breakker and Gunther, the former WALTER, are slated to be in St. Louis next weekend for the Rumble event. There’s no confirmation they will be in the Men’s Rumble, but they will, at least, be on deck if needed.” [h/t Sportskeeda]
Bron Breakker has been on a roll since debuting in the NXT 2.0. He recently won the NXT Championship.
3. Austin Theory is set to shine in the Royal Rumble match.
According to a new report, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is set to give current Raw star Austin Theory a Huge Push at the Upcoming Royal Rumble.
WrestlingNews.co has reported that Theory will last deep into the men’s Rumble match:
“Austin [Theory] is going to get time to shine in the Rumble match. Last I heard was he will be in the final 4 or 5 at the end of the match.”
Currently, odds suggest that according to SkyBet, current WWE Champion Brock Lesnar is favourites to win the match with Big E close behind him.
4. Slashing staff in NXT hasn’t really affected how things operate.
According to Ringside News, the recent wave of firings in NXT was meant to be a personal shot at Triple H. However, it has been said that the released individuals didn’t really change how WWE is producing NXT either.
NXT has been through Bruce Prichard and Ed Koskey since they started with NXT 2.0. Vince McMahon then approves things, and this has been the system “since the day Triple H stopped going due to his heart issues.”
A tenured source within the company also confirmed to us that “Kapoor and Russo buffered HBK and Road Dogg and Regal and Sapolsky. The only difference now is the slimming of the staff.”
“WWE slashed the staff in NXT, but we were told that the operation in NXT 2.0 wasn’t really affected by the slimming staff. They have the same order that was instated when the change was made from black and gold to 2.0. The only difference is there are less people.”
