Alberto Del Rio could possibly be on his way to make WWE return
Former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio will surely want to make a return to the company, however his legal troubles have not allowed him to do so. Del Rio was released by the WWE back in 2016 and has had his world turn upside down since then.
As per Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Del Rio has been telling people that he will return to WWE after his current legal disputes are over. He was accused by his ex-girlfriend San Antonio for kidnapping and also sexual assault, later she took back her complaints but it was too late as courts and police got involved.
Del Rio has faith that he be free of charges but this will take time. While his return to the WWE seems very unlikely but it is not impossible. The company will have to take a big risk if and when it decides to bring back Del Rio.
What was Del Rio’s career like in WWE?
Del Rio made his debut back in 2010 in the WWE, he was introduced as an arrogant rich character and quickly rose through the ranks in the company. He went on to become WWE champion in only his second year with the company.
Del Rio then went on to become the World Heavyweight champion as well. However, in 2014 he was fired by the WWE for unprofessional conduct. He returned to the WWE a year later in 2015. But was again released from the company in 2016 before returning to the Independent circuit.
