Rumors about Backstage heat leading to the release of WWE Superstar Top Dolla
It has been rumored that AJ Francis, aka “Top Dolla was reportedly released by WWE due to some backstage heat with the main roster.
There were reports that Top Dolla was having some heat when Hit Row was still in WWE NXT. However, according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc.), all this NXT heat was due to Francis rubbing “a ton of people the wrong way” while he was there.
It was also reported that WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon stated Francis, aka Top Dolla, as one of the Hit Row stable stars, primarily due to his size.
Since B-Fab, aka Briana Brandy, who was a part of the Hit Row stable, was released earlier this month along with 18 other superstars, it was speculated that once WWE decided to release Francis and the other members of the stable, Scott and Adonis also drove in the crossfire.
Hit Row members were drafted to SmackDown in the recently conducted WWE Draft 2021, but it was just a matter of time that all the stable members got released within one month.
All the members of Hit Row will become free agents on Wednesday, February 16, when their 90 days non-compete clause with WWE expired.
Many WWE superstars have been shown the door for one year due to budget cut reasons, as cited in their email. As a result, superstars like Keith Lee, John Morrison, Franky Monet, Mia Yim etc., have been released this month.
