Goldberg is set to return on Raw and challenge Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam 2021 in the latest rumors

WWE legend Goldberg could be set for another return ahead of SummerSlam, according to the latest rumors.

The former champion last wrestled at the Royal Rumble where he lost to Drew McIntyre. However, Goldberg revealed that he is permitted to wrestle two matches in a year thanks to his contract (h/t Wrestling Inc).

Fightful claims that Goldberg is set to face Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam 2021 for the title. Further, Goldberg is also expected to appear on the first Raw after Money in the Bank.

That Raw will be held in front of the fans and this is certainly interesting in the grand scheme of things.

Goldberg vs Drew McIntyre for the title?

SummerSlam 2021 is to take place later in August but if Goldberg is to return, there could be something big up in the air.

Goldberg has often returned to take the title and then lost it soon. WWE could do that for Drew McIntyre as the Scot lost to Bobby Lashley at Hell in a Cell and cannot challenge the All Mighty for the gold.

Further, McIntyre is in the Money in the Bank match and winning the briefcase would allow him to challenge for the gold for a year.

This would all play very well into the hands of McIntyre. WWE would also win as McIntyre would not have to challenge Lashley for the title, yet, he could still be the champion.

Goldberg being allowed two matches in a year seems to be fine. He did a decent enough job against McIntyre at the Rumble, and it will be interesting to see if he really makes an appearance on the next Raw.
