Roman Reigns apparently works with who he wants to work during his current WWE stint
Billi Bhatti and former WWE writer Vince Russo were on the Nitty Gritty Dirt Show on Russosbrand.com (h/t Wrestling-Edge), and they talked about how much creative control the current WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has right now.
Reigns was recently picked by Royal Rumble 2021 winner Edge to be his opponent at WrestleMania 37.
And Bhatti thinks that all these pieces are falling in place for ‘The Tribal Chief’ because it he himself decides who he faces next. At least that is what Bhatti says.
“Here’s the thing, the only reason that happened was because Roman is in on his own terms. Like the part of his comeback was to have Paul Heyman, a part of his comeback to work with who he wanted to work with, which is why you saw the Uso situation and why we were heading to Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns and why we saw Kevin Owens elevated as well to why we are seeing the push of Cesaro.
“Roman Reigns works with whoever Roman Reigns wants to work with.”
WWE star Roman Reigns has been unstoppable since his return
‘The Big Dog’ returned at SummerSlam in 2019 and nothing has been the same at the promotion. WWE missed him big time.
And if we go by Bhatti’s comments, Reigns had control over being managed by Paul Heyman and having Jey Uso as his right-hand man.
Moreover, his rivalry with Kevin Owens for the Universal title is also apparently down to him. And so is his match against Daniel Bryan.
And it makes complete sense. The WWE admits that there is no talent quite like Reigns to match him right now, and in that sense, he could be really be carrying the show on his shoulders, something he addressed a few weeks back in a promo.
And if he does have so much creative control, it would be interesting to see if he would be willing to part ways with his coveted belt at the grandest stage of all in March against ‘The Rated R Superstar’.
Edge vs Reigns should be a brilliant clash, and this could turn out to be the match of the year.
