Here are all the WWE Rumor Roundup including new WWE title plans, Bella Twins future and more for 31st January
WWE Royal Rumble saw a major turn of events in the bid for the WWE title, besides that the Bella Twins also returned to in-ring action after a long time. Here is all the WWE Rumor Roundup for today.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE has “legitimately no plans for WWE title match at WrestleMania at this point.”
“Lesnar had to be the winner here. I’m told they legitimately have no idea what the WWE Title match at Mania will be at this point. So avoid the old pigeon-hole.’
Royal Rumble saw Bobby Lashley defeat Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship. However, Lesnar came back strongly as he went on to win the Royal Rumble after entering at 30th.
There were numerous talks about Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar for WrestleMania going on from the past few months, but now it seems like WWE is very unclear about the WWE titles for the mega event.
It will be interesting to see who Brock Lesnar chooses to face at WrestleMania.
WWE Superstar Seth Rollins started his entrance to the Shield music in the Shield attire. However, the match ended in a disqualification as Roman Reigns didn’t let go of the Guillotine choke even after Rollins got to the ropes. Then came the brutal chair beatdown on The Visionary by The Tribal Chief.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, the possible reason why Reigns acted out like that with the chair attack as WWE wanted fans to boo reigns after the match was over.
“To get out of the people booing it, Roman hit him with a million chair shots when it was over, including a chair shot to the back. This was basically to mimic the Seth Rollins chair shot to the back when The Shield broke up. So, you know that was to turn boos for the match into boos for Roman at the end of the segment, and it pretty much worked that way. So, that was the plan. That’s the whole gist of it.”
The Bella Twins recently made a comeback at the Royal Rumble 2022, and since then there have been possible speculations about the potential WWE returns for Brie and Nikki Bella.
According to PW Insider, there is a belief that “we’d probably see more with Nikki and Brie Bella for WrestleMania 38.”
Last year the twins appeared on The Ellen Show, and that’s when Nikki even revealed that they were targeting Wrestlemania 38 return. Later, Bella also said that Mania 38 in Dallas will be her dream comeback date.
It will be interesting to see whom these two twins face at Mania; it might even be a singles bout.
Wrestling Observer has noted that many former wrestlers were called to work the Royal Rumble matches and turned it down.
Last night during the Men’s Royal Rumble, Kofi Kingston was eliminated early by Kevin Owens. Still, it wasn’t supposed to be destroyed when he was, and there were some really major spots planned with Big E later in the match.
But unfortunately for him, when Kofi was tossed over, he was supposed to grab hold of the barricade outside with his feet touching the floor.
According to Bryan Alvarez, WWE had some big plans for Kingston for this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble match. He took to Twitter and claimed that his elimination was mistimed.
“Kofi’s big spot was mistimed and he was legitimately eliminated when he wasn’t supposed to be, there were spots planned later with Big E out there”
