Edge made his WWE return after close to 10 years due to a serious injury but could have suffered another one
WWE superstar Edge seems to have picked up another serious injury, according to reports.
Edge was in action at WWE Backlash 2020 against Randy Orton. The pair fought in what was dubbed as the ‘Greatest Wrestling Match’ ever. However, Fight Select reported on Sunday that the Rated-R Superstar suffered a torn tricep and he could be out for a while.
There is no confirmation of these reports from within WWE or from any doctor or superstar. However, Edge picking up another serious injury would be devastating to his WWE return.
The Canadian was out of action for nearly a decade after neck problems and he had two surgeries to repair the damage.
Rumours of a return were making the rounds in 2020, and Edge shocked the world by appearing in the Royal Rumble.
Though he didn’t win the Rumble, Edge fought against Orton at WrestleMania 36. It was the Canadian who beat Orton in a Last Man Standing match but couldn’t repeat the same feat this time.
Orton and Edge served up a classic wrestling match and despite using finishers of other stars, Edge was unable to get the pin. Orton used a punt kick for the win as Edge was unable to kick out.
WWE’s plans affected?
It will be interesting to see if WWE does come up with news of Edge’s injury or not. The Rated-R Superstar is still one of the top draws in the business, and a tricep injury could keep him out for a while.
There were reports of Edge setting up for another battle at SummerSlam, but that could be out of the window.
The Canadian selected to face Orton in his return, and the Viper had spoken about how great a compliment that was for him.
Orton and Edge kept things safe during their two clashes, and it would be a shame if Edge was ruled out for a while.
He could have had some ring-rust coming back to WWE, however, that was never on show. This was Edge’s second singles match since returning from injury, and hopefully, he will be back in action soon.
