The Fiend won the Universal title by defeating Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel
The Fiend Bray Wyatt is the most ‘over’ superstar of the WWE roster, at present. He may be playing the role of a bonafide heel character on TV but the reactions from the crowd are completely different.
He is one of the reasons why the prime babyface character of Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins, has turned out to be a villain in the eyes of the audience.
WWE is also using this opportunity to make him a monstrous persona who has lately become indestructible.
The Fiend to have a lengthy title reign
He won the Universal Championship back at Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia dethroning Seth Rollins from his championship reign and carried the belt to SmackDown.
Moving forward, he will continue getting a massive push that might produce a humongous match at WrestleMania 36.
There’s no doubt that The Fiend Bray Wyatt will feature in a marquee match at the biggest event of the year in 2020. A recent report might have just disclosed the names of his potential opponents.
According to Dave Meltzer, the new resident monster of the WWE might just end up facing “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns or “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 next year.
At present The Fiend is all set to defend his Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan at Survivor Series 2019 this Sunday night.
He is expected to have a successful outing on the show, going by the upcoming advertisements of WWE.
Starrcade PPV and the November 30th Live Event in Mexico have already booked The Fiend as ‘the champion’
So it’s certain that he is not going to drop the title, anytime soon. Rather, he may just go on to have a lengthy title reign all the way leading up to WrestleMania 36.
Two big opponents are waiting for The Fiend at WrestleMania
Here’s more from the future plans on The Fiend’s opponent, as stated by the veteran wrestling journalist, (h/t Wwfoldschool.com)
“Brock is stuck with Paul [Heyman] and because of Brock, Paul and Vince [McMahon] it is always planned out in advance. We probably should be seeing hints of whatever [Lesnar’s direction] is pretty soon.
I’m still thinking it might be Bray Wyatt although they’re different brands. Maybe that’s out of the question, but maybe it’s not. Even if it is out of the question today, it might not be out of the question in a month.”
Meltzer added that he didn’t think Bryan would be the one to face Wyatt if ratings kept going down.
The veteran didn’t think Braun Strowman would face Bryan at WWE WrestleMania 36 but believed it could be Reigns or Lesnar.
“I don’t think it’s Strowman. I guess it might be Roman. I mean it could be Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania. I could absolutely see that.
Those could be the two. I’d say it’s Bray Wyatt against either Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar.”
However, WWE changes plans every now and then around the marquee matches and especially when it comes to the ‘grandest PPV of the year’.
So we’ll just have to wait and see which superstar the creative team would want to book Wyatt against.
