The May 27 episode of Smackdown will continue to build towards WWE Hell in a Cell event. This episode will unfold a few surprises as Roman Reigns, and The Usos address the WWE Universe after last week’s title win. Additionally, SmackDown Champion Ronda Rousey will appear tonight and more.
1. Gunther attacks Ricochet on SmackDown
The Previous episode of SmackDown saw Gunther destroying Drew Gulak in a one-on-one match. After the game, Gunther was not over with it and attacked Gulak. However, the Intercontinental Champion came to the rescue and confronted Ricochet.
This can be said that a high stakes feud between Gunther and Richochet seems to be on the cards. Fans can expect Gunther to attack Ricochet and challenge him for a title match at Hell in a Cell.
Since Ricochet’s recent reign as the Intercontinental Champion is quite dry, Gunther can be his ideal challenger.
2. Xavier Woods to bring a surprise partner for the Six-Man Tag Team Match
Last week on SmackDown saw Xavier Woods compete against Butch in a one-on-one matchup where he secured a win. However, for wood, the celebration didn’t go well.
As Butch’s partners, Sheamus and Ridge Holland attacked Woods on the ramp and later joined Butch in the assault. Later in the show, Woods gave a backstage interview after his assault where he mentioned a backup plan and brought a mystery partner for the upcoming six-man tag team match on SmackDown alongside Kofi Kingston.
There have been several names in the air which can be New Day’s potential mystery opponent, and Drew McIntyre is one of the big names in the race. However, it is to note that WWE is reserving Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre for the Clash at the Castle.
3. Drew McIntyre returns on SmackDown
The Scottish Psychopath will return to SmackDown tonight. McIntyre was on tour to the UK to promote WWE’s Clash at the Castle. Last week Michael Cole also mentioned that the former WWE Champion will return.
McIntyre took to Twitter and mentioned the number of tickets already sold and mentioned about his return to SmackDown.

4. Shyna Baszler is revealed as Ronda Rousey’s next opponent
As Sasha Banks and Naomi are not in the title picture due to their walking out. WWE has been reportedly struggling to find Ronda Rousey’s next opponent. It should be noted that Banks was next in line to challenge Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Champion.
Many names like Natalya, Rhea Ripley and Carmella are speculated as Rousey’s next opponent. However, a name that has come into the mix is Shayna Baszler, who can challenge the current SmackDown Women’s Champion. This rivalry could turn out to be exciting as both have an MMA background.
5. The Bloodline addresses the WWE universe
Last week The Usos defeated RK-Bro to become the new Unified Tag Team Champions. However, the Tribal Chief interfered and played an essential role in winning his cousins the tag team titles as he attacked Riddle.
The Bloodline went on to brutally assaulted Randy Orton and Riddle after the match. This week on Friday Night SmackDown, Roman Reigns will address the WWE universe about The Bloodline’s supremacy of winning it all.
There is a chance that Riddle might interrupt The Bloodline and seek revenge for what Roman did on RK-Bro. Several reports show Riddle is the next opponent for Roman Reigns for the first title defence in this new calendar year for WWE.
