WWE SmackDown Preview: The main talking point for the upcoming episode of SmackDown is the final of the Intercontinental championship.
Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles face off in the final after some madness in the previous episode. Styles is fresh from not wrestling last week while Bryan had a tough clash to reach the final.
WWE SmackDown has some other big matches set up too and we will cover them in the preview.
Hardy vs Sheamus
Jeff Hardy was to participate in the IC title competition but was arrested on suspicion of DUI while also injuring Elias.
However, the Charismatic Enigma suggested later that it was Sheamus who did the attack and framed him.
The pair have been at loggerheads since both returned from injury, and we will see them on SmackDown.
Sheamus and Hardy meet at Backlash, and they will sign a contract for the match. However, it will be unlikely this doesn’t end up becoming a brawl.
Tucker is back
Tucker has been missing for a while since Otis won the Money in the Bank title. He reunites with his tag partner and Braun Strowman as they face The Miz, John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler in a six-man tag match.
Otis and Strowman have worked together in the past. Strowman also has a tough handicap match at Backlash against Miz and Morrison.
There are several storylines going into this, especially with Ziggler and Otis having a rivalry. Otis also has a Money in the Bank briefcase, so a lot of madness should take place in this match.
Styles vs Bryan
Two of the best in the world of wrestling face off in the finals for the IC title. Styles didn’t wrestle last week, while Bryan defeated Sheamus to reach the final.
This should be an incredible match but Styles would be keen on picking up the win. He was defeated by Drew Gulak last week, and Bryan will be looking to exploit Styles’ overconfidence.
Styles vs Bryan could be one of the best matches of the year, and we will get to see that on SmackDown.
