There were rumours of WWE cancelling SmackDown but those have been laid to rest.
Although the lack of fans would certainly affect the atmosphere, there are several interesting angles that should progress further this week.
Jeff Hardy is back
Former WWE champion and tag champion Jeff Hardy has been away for a while due to an injury. However, the Charismatic Enigma makes his return to WWE, and that should be a highlight in its own.
Hardy has had his injury problems in the past, and it will be interesting to see what he has planned next.
Cena is here
Last week, The Fiend challenged John Cena to a match at WrestleMania 36, and the former champ accepted it.
Cena cut a promo where it seemed he was set to retire, however, that seems far from the truth.
Wyatt had a great Firefly Fun House segment last week, but Cena should have something to say about this.
The 16-time World champion is one of the best on the microphone, and this segment should be straight fire.
Paige confronts a champion
Could this be the start of Paige’s return to in ring competition? The former WWE Divas champion has been out for a couple of years and recently had neck surgery too.
However, she has been coy on a return to the WWE. Paige has been in a manager’s capacity in the past with the Kabuki Warriors, but what message does she have for Bayley?
The SmackDown Women’s champion hasn’t been tested a lot in recent months, and is unsure of her clash at WrestleMania 36.
Other stories
This will also be the first SmackDown after Elimination Chamber 2020, and there could be a lot said about the tag team titles.
The Miz and Morrison kept the titles, however, Heavy Machinery could be up against Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.
