WWE SmackDown Preview 15 May 2020: A new Intercontinental Champion crowned?

Published by

WWE SmackDown Preview: The big talking point ahead of this week’s SmackDown is regarding the Intercontinental title.

Sami Zayn was stripped of the crown by WWE and a new champion has to be picked. However, WWE has to make a decision on how to do that, and this should be interesting.

There are some other big appearances and storylines ahead of WWE SmackDown too and here is this week’s preview.

Intercontinental Championship

Zayn is unable to defend the title and a new champion will be crowned. WWE has confirmed a tournament will take place, but haven’t confirmed how or what happens.

They are holding a round-robin tournament for the interim Cruiserweight title, and that could be one way to go.

SmackDown should provide more answers regarding this, and it should be an interesting watch.

Charlotte is back

WWE NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte has featured on Raw multiple times since winning the title.

Now, she makes her return to SmackDown, and could challenge one of its top stars. It is a little weird why Charlotte is appearing regularly on other brands, but we should learn more about the Queen on this week’s SmackDown.
