The May 6 episode of SmackDown will continue to build towards WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022 event. WWE has apparently pulled the Sheamus and Ridge Holland vs The New Day Tables Match from tonight’s show. Hence, the only match listed for tonight’s show is WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Sasha Banks vs Shayna Baszler. Additionally, the Usos and RK-Bro rivalry will continue and more!
Match Card and Predictions
1. RK-Bro is scheduled to appear tonight for a final confrontation
RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro is scheduled to appear tonight for the final WrestleMania Backlash build. Then, the team with Drew McIntyre to face six-man action on Sunday.
Last week we saw RK-Bro and The Usos had a contract signing to make their tag team title unification match. But Roman Reigns interrupted, and the original plan was relinquished. Drew McIntyre also made his appearance, and now it is a six-man tag team match with no championship title on the line.
RK-Bro will be cashing in for the final angle with the Bloodline ahead of the six-man tag team match at WrestleMania Backlash. So we can say that WWE might bring some late change to the game after tonight.
2. Ronda Rousey will appear tonight
Ronda Rousey proved superior to SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in an “I Quit” Beat the Clock challenge last week. However, Flair blamed her failure on Drew Gulak, who didn’t ring the bell fast enough.
Tonight we can expect Rousey have some final confrontation before the match at WrestleMania Backlash.
3. What’s next for Ricochet
Last week we saw Ricochet successfully retain his title against Shanky. Still, the relationship between Shanky and Jinder Mahal looks very critical, so this can certainly mean that their segment with Ricochet might be done. Instead, a new superstar Gunther might come into action.
4. Sasha Banks and Naomi to defend the Women’s Tag Team titles
This week, Sasha Banks and Naomi will defend the Women’s Tag Team titles against Natalya and Shayna Balzer. But before that, Banks and Baszler go one on one tonight again. Baszler lost last week against Naomi but was eventually led to a brutal attack on the latter after the match by Baszler. So Naomi will be looking for some redemption.
5. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins are scheduled for tonight
Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins will show up tonight for one more final segment before their clash at WrestleMania Backlash. They are also scheduled to appear for the dark main event match.
6. Raquel Rodriguez up for another bout
Raquel Rodriguez made her in-ring debut on the main roster last week with a win over a jobber. There is. A chance that she will appear again to have another bout.
