WWE SmackDown got a huge ratings boost last week but this didn’t happen this time around
SmackDown saw a huge ratings boost last week thanks to the NFL game prior to that but things were back to normal on this week’s show.
SmackDown did have some big matches on show and a few surprises along the way with Sonya Deville making a return to WWE.
Roman Reigns also had a huge spot right at the end while Kevin Owens was sent through a table in a brutal ending.
However, that was not enough for SmackDown to continue its rating trends from last week. It still did better than what Raw had been doing and here are the results from the show.
Big E and Apollo Crews beat Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin
Riott Squad beats Tamina and Natalya
Bayley and Carmella beat Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair
Daniel Bryan and Otis beat Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura
Kevin Owens beats Jey Uso
This week’s SmackDown brought in an average of 1.96million viewers over the two hours, according to Showbuzz Daily (h/t ComicBook).
This was way down when compared to the previous week with the NFL helping that episode get an average of 3.30m viewers over the two hours.
The first hour of the show got 1.99m viewers while the second hour got in 1.83m viewers. The 18-49 demo rating was also down this week.
Last time it got 0.96 thanks to the NFL while this time around it was down to 0.50. This was still better than what Raw has been doing and AEW has been beating NXT regularly on Wednesday.
It will be interesting to see how the ratings continue for SmackDown. They have done a great job, despite it not being the flagship show of WWE and constantly is the best watched wrestling show on TV.
