The WWE SmackDown ratings for the latest show didn’t see a significant rise or drop despite a major surprise
WWE SmackDown had one major surprise on the latest show but it didn’t affect the ratings all that much.
Roman Reigns was upset with Adam Pearce and that had a role to play in the main event. Big E also put his title on the line against Apollo Crews.
There also was a huge tag title match on the show with Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode getting a shot.
The gauntlet match for the main event was also huge and that helped keep the ratings steady.
Big E beats Apollo Crews (First match ended in a draw)
Dolph Ziggler and Robert Robert beat Street Profits (Ziggler and Roode win SmackDown tag titles)
Adam Pearce wins gauntlet match (Became No.1 contender for Reigns at Royal Rumble)
The latest SmackDown episode brought in an average of 2.003m viewers, according to Showbuzz Daily (h/t Wrestling Inc).
The first hour of the show racked up 2.036m viewers while the second hour dipped below the 2million mark with 1.969m viewers.
When compared to the previous week’s show, this was slightly down. That SmackDown drew an average of 2.013m viewers over the two hours.
The latest SmackDown show also got in 0.5 as the rating for the 18-49 demographic. This was almost the same as last week which had a 0.53 rating.
SmackDown did have a major surprise that teased WWE fans throughout the show. Reigns wanted Pearce to pay for his actions and the WWE official was made to win the gauntlet match.
However, this wasn’t enough to boost the ratings and viewership in the second hour. SmackDown still remained strong in all this and is the best viewed WWE show on TV.
