WWE SmackDown results and winners: Edge decided to take on Roman Reigns but had a little help from a legend
One major talking point ahead of this week’s WWE SmackDown was the injury of Bayley. The Role Model was to face Bianca Belair at Money in the Bank but suffered a training injury and was going to be out for nine months.
Apart from that, WWE SmackDown also needed to finalise some spots for their Money in the Bank matches.
Roman Reigns also had some business to attend to, and we start off this WWE SmackDown results and winners piece with the Tribal Chief.
Reigns spoke about his family after bringing up Edge. While Jimmy Uso questioned Reigns why he was away, Jey came out and said he was ready to do anything for the family.
Reigns embraced them both and it seemed the family was going to be in this together.
The first match of the night was a Money in the Bank qualifier between King Nakamura and Baron Corbin.
Corbin’s bad luck continued as Nakamura picked up the win and headed to the PPV.

Shotzi Blackheart (now Shotzi) and Tegan Nox (now Nox) came out to challenge Tamina and Natalya.
The former NXT pair dominated the match and got a surprise win on their main roster debut, of sorts.

Sonya Deville first confirmed that Carmella was to face Bianca Belair for the title next week and Liv Morgan was getting a shot at the MITB PPV.
There was a vignette that confirmed that Toni Storm, another NXT star, was coming to SmackDown soon.
The third match of the night was another MITB qualifier and it was Seth Rollins who got the win over his rival, Cesaro.

The show ended with Edge blasting Roman Reigns on the microphone before The Big Dog came, along with the Usos.
However, Edge had the returning Mysterios on his side and the father-son pair took out the Usos.
Reigns ran away but Edge was still able to apply the chair cross face on Jey to close out the show.
