WWE SmackDown results and winners: Finn Balor got on the wrong side of Roman Reigns
WWE SummerSlam was a few weeks away and a big match was confirmed last week with John Cena taking on the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
However, Finn Balor was left with a sour taste in the mouth as he was attacked before signing a contract to face Reigns.
Bianca Belair, the SmackDown Women’s Champion, was also attacked by the returning Sasha Banks last week, and we start off this WWE SmackDown results and winners piece with the women taking to the ring.
Banks started off the show and claimed that the EST of WWE made her name thanks to Banks at WrestleMania.
Belair was unhappy but Zelina Vega interrupted. Belair confirmed that she would face Banks at SummerSlam but Vega would get her title shot later on.
The first match of the evening saw Dominik Mysterio take on Jey Uso in singles competition. Distractions from the wrestlers’ partners ensured that it was Jey who got the win.

Shinsuke Nakamura faced Apollo Crews, the Intercontinental champion, knowing that a win would get him a title shot, possibly.
The Artist was able to get the win despite some interference from Commander Azeez.

Natalya seems to be out for a while and it was Tamina, her partner, in one-on-one competition with Tegan Nox.
This was a quick win for Nox with Shotzi Blackheart also using her tank to shoot a missile or two.

Edge came out to the ring and wanted a piece of Seth Rollins for the latter’s attack a week or so back.
However, Rollins was not in the arena and laughed off Edge’s challenge at SummerSlam.
Edge, using his experience, was able to goad Rollins into a clash, and the date was set for SummerSlam.
Robert Roode and Montez Ford started off this tag match and it were the Profits who got the win thanks to a splash from Ford.
The next match saw Belair defend her title against Vega. Vega put on quite a fight against the champion and had a few close calls before The EST of WWE was able to retain the title.

The next match saw Finn Balor easily destroy Baron Corbin, the man who stole Balor’s title opportunity last week.
Balor then called out Roman Reigns and the Tribal Chief didn’t respond well to the challenger. Balor shoved Reigns out of the ring and was attacked by the Usos.
The Prince put up a good fight but Reigns came back to save his cousins before choking out Balor to end the show.
