Sheamus has been out for a while but the Celtic Warrior is set to return to SmackDown

Former WWE champion Sheamus confirmed he was to return to SmackDown during this week’s episode.

The 41-year-old has been out of action after WrestleMania 35 and has been recovering from spinal stenosis.

However, he has been active on social media and has posted several pictures of him enjoying Liverpool games.

Sheamus seems to be in great shape and took a shot at the division too.

The Celtic Warrior claimed that the roster is “pathetic” and that not many of the stars are hungry.

The 41-year-old went on to say that this was the best time for him to return and take over the division.

Sheamus also called out Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin and poked fun at Shorty G too.

New old look for Sheamus

It was great seeing the Irishman back and seemingly ready to start a brawl in SmackDown.

Sheamus had a lot of success as a singles competitor and also as a tag team with Cesaro.

However, he sported his first look during his time in WWE. Gone is the Mohawk and piercings, this seems to be the Sheamus of the past, and that could be great for the brand.

The Irishman has held the WWE championship thrice and the World Heavyweight title once during his time in the company.

Sheamus is also a winner of the Money in the Bank, King of the Ring and Royal Rumble too.

A return to his aggressive state could elevate the men’s division of SmackDown, and there could be some juicy fights ahead.

Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin are two top performers he could face. However, the main aim is to find someone who can challenge The Fiend Bray Wyatt.

Wyatt’s gimmick is causing problems to most of the stars with Daniel Bryan his latest victim. Seth Rollins just couldn’t get the better of The Fiend and lost his Universal title at Crown Jewel.

It will be interesting to see who Sheamus faces once he returns and if he will be in action next week.

The Celtic Warrior returning is great news for SmackDown and hopefully, he stays fit for a long run to a title shot.
