Summerslam 2021 set to be grand event of the year
WWE Summerslam is set to be one of the most exciting time in this year’s curtailed calendar. The event is also set to welcome fans for the ‘biggest event of the summer.’
The 34th edition has a lot of big match-ups and feuds this year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Summerslam is the second biggest event of the WWE year, after WrestleMania and features the best wrestlers in WWE.
Summerslam takes place on 21st August 2021. The venue for the event is the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the first time an event will be played in an NFL stadium. Moreover, the show will also feature Guns N’ Roses.
“Coming out of the pandemic, it was important to us to have a big event like Summerslam in Las Vegas. We expect to deliver a great night of sports entertainment for the people of the city and a boost in foot traffic for the casinos and local businesses,” said Nick Khan, WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer.
The two have an intense rivalry dating back to WrestleMania 37 and Belair shocked the world winning her first SmackDown Women’s Championship. However, Banks will be looking for payback this time around and retake her title.
Baszler and Bliss have been part of an interesting storyline. On the recently concluded episode, Baszler seemed petrified after trampling Lily inside Alexa’s PlayGround. However, this could head to Summerslam, with a tough winner to predict for the outcome.
There are reports suggesting Lesnar’s delay is to make for a title clash with WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The two have had big clashes at WrestleMania, but a first at Summerslam could be a hard fought battle. The duo also have the same manager, Paul Heyman. However, it will be a complex psychological battle when Summerslam comes around.
